How long does delivery take to the United States?
FedEx Economy arrives in 8-10 business days and FedEx Priority in 6-7 business days, counted from dispatch. Each dress is made to order, so add 1-3 business days of production before dispatch. You receive the tracking number by e-mail as soon as the parcel leaves our atelier.
Is shipping free?
Yes. Shipping is free on every order over $45 to the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia and Brazil. Below $45 the FedEx Economy rate is $28.45. Priority delivery is available at checkout for orders that need to arrive sooner.
What sizes do you make and how do I choose?
We make sizes 6 months through 10 years in US numeric sizing. Every product page carries the measurement chart with chest, waist and length. If your child is between two sizes, choose the larger one: our waists have adjustment and the extra length is easy to live with.
What are the dresses made of?
100% cotton: gabardine or satiny twill for the outer fabric, with a soft morim cotton lining. Skirts get layers of filo or French tulle for volume. Embroidery, pearls and appliques are applied by hand in our own atelier in Brazil.
Who makes the dresses?
We do. Moderna Meninas is a family atelier in Brazil and the same seamstresses cut, sew and finish every piece. We are not a dropshipping store: the dress you order is made in our workshop after you order it.
Can I return or exchange a dress?
Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to request a return or exchange, as long as the dress is unworn, unwashed and with its tags. Write to sales@modernameninas.com with your order number and we send the instructions. Custom-measure orders are the only exception.
How do I wash the dresses?
Hand wash in cold water with mild soap and dry in the shade. Dresses with pearl embroidery, LED lights or heavy appliques should be dry cleaned. Never wring tulle: press the water out with a towel and hang to dry.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. Beyond the countries with free shipping, FedEx international delivery covers the rest of the world in 19-22 business days. The rate is calculated at checkout, and import duties, when they apply, are the customer's responsibility.
Can I order matching dresses for a group or flower girls?
Yes, and please write to us first at sales@modernameninas.com. Colour varies slightly between fabric rolls, so for two or more matching dresses we reserve fabric from the same roll before starting production.
