A family atelier that makes every dress it sells
Moderna Meninas is not a catalogue of imported costumes. We are a small workshop in Brazil where the same team cuts the fabric, sews the bodices, embroiders the pearls by hand and inspects each dress before it is packed.
Why we work in cotton
Most party dresses for children are made of shiny polyester because it is cheap and photographs well. It is also hot, it scratches and children ask to take it off halfway through the party. We use cotton gabardine and satiny twill with a soft morim lining, so the dress can be worn for a whole afternoon.
What handmade means here
- Pearl and lace embroidery applied by hand, piece by piece.
- Lined bodices and skirts, closed seams, invisible zips.
- Sizes cut to order: we do not hold stock of finished dresses.
